Elizabeth Nolan Elizabeth Nolan is an Associate Professor of Chemistry at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She received her Ph.D. under the guidance of Professor Stephen J. Lippard at MIT in 2006 and was an NIH post-doctoral fellow with Professor Christopher T. Walsh at Harvard Medical School. Liz joined the Department of Chemistry at MIT as an Assistant Professor in 2009 and was promoted to Associate Professor Without Tenure in 2014. Her independent research focuses on the roles of transition metal ions in the host/microbe interaction with particular emphasis on metal-chelating human host-defense protein as well as bacterial siderophores.
